What is my favorite children’s book?
Hmmmm…it would be tough to choose just one. As a child, I remember Twas the Night Before Christmas and Mr. Pine’s Purple House.

When I had my own children, I loved reading to them and we had lots of books but my favorite was Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar.

And when my son was born, it was Where the Wild Things Are.

Just seeing the covers of these evokes memories of sitting in their room, in the rocking chair, reading to them. I remember the smell of their freshly washed hair and how they felt snuggled in my lap. It was such a wonderful time and these books figured prominently in that period of my life. I am glad I saved them and hope to read them again someday to my grandchildren.
But now, as an adult, I would have to say my favorite is Love You Forever.

I often give this a baby shower gift. And if you’ve read it, you know. You know that reading it will certainly make you cry. My son’s kindergarten teacher read this to the class before she retired from teaching and she could barely get through it. It is such an amazing book and it is for me, parenthood.
What is your favorite?
