I wish I didn’t. Dream Killers is geared for fans of Once Upon a Time. The first season (Spring 2014) consists of 3 novellas called episodes. It follows River as he discovers who he is and his role in Dreamland. Dream Killers is to Dreamland Stories what Agents of Shield is to the Marvel movies. Dreamland is an intense, rich, fascinating world with lots going on. If you like fairy tales, are looking for something new,try this one.

I received a copy of The Dream Killers in order to provide an honest review.  The opinions ae my own

I was so excited to get a new book from SM Blooding…and it was actually 3, each a novella.  The author once again amazed me with her imagination.  Her creativity in showing me this new world with her writing was a welcome distraction from reality. So I grabbed my glass of pinot grigio (one of my summer faves) and got to reading.

We are in another world…Dreamland.  There is a Sea of Dreams and many other places here in this world. Each one is more captivating than the last.  I almost felt like I was watching a movie, the descriptions were so vivid.  This is one of my favorite aspects of this author’s writings…each book I have read really takes you away.  Which is why I love to read.

Again, she introduces us to great characters…flawed, “real”, and mostly likable.  There are always a couple in there that are downright scary.  The main character, River, is a young man…a boy really, who is finding his way in this world and his place in it.  Along the way, he meets a cast of diverse characters.  I would have to say Zoe was my favorite. She was a child, vulnerable, wanting to be loved, but also fearless at times.

I loved how I was taken on this ride…as River traveled this world, made his way to finding out his purpose and helped people along the way.  I think the main lesson in this book was very deep and profound…some dreams may not be attainable…sometimes it is good if those dreams die as long as you are strong enough to dream up new ones.  Most of all, dreams are important…they are hope and what gives us life.
