I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters. I wanted to be an actress growing up so I could live many roles but I learned early on that my mind was too active… I would want to change the script.I would watch films and think of ways they could of improved the story if they took another direction so i thought it best that i tell my own.

My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light, some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.

Anger’s sharp surface made it difficult to talk, roughing up my voice. “You signed me up for online dating?” Yikes. Betrayal bit hard.

“Not exactly.” Sara waded in and pulled my irritation from Claudia whose eyes had rounded wide and her mouth had formed a perfect circle. Unkindly, I couldn’t help comparing her to a damn fish.

“Okay, what exactly?” Fluttering the post-it in Sara’s face, I gritted my teeth. Embarrassment crunched my words together under the pressure of my jaw. “What the hell is this then?” I crossed my arms.

Heat flushed Sara’s pale cheeks. “It’s us trying to help you find a guy, if not to fall in love with, to actually screw. Maybe if you got laid, you’d back off on all the craziness you wrap yourself in.” She thrust her chin to the side. “You’re not the only one still suffering, okay?”

Quietly, Claudia cleared her throat. “Look, Molly, I’m sorry. We honestly thought you might like the speed dating event. It’s supposed to be fun, and if it makes you feel better, I signed us up, too. We can go with you and if nothing else, maybe it’ll result in good stories to tell at work.”

Sara huffed. “You’re kidding me. I have to speed date a bunch of losers?” Sharp glances between Claudia’s irritated glare and my slack-jawed disbelief had her back-pedaling. “Okay, fine. You can’t say I’m not willing to donate for the less fortunate.”

I didn’t have a reply. A long ass week at work and I’d known something like this would be waiting for me. But I wouldn’t be alone. My girls would be with me. What’s the worst that could happen?
